ALIPH Student Rules & Guidelines
2024 Summer Dawrah

As an ALIPH dawrah student, please remember that you are here to pursue an essential program of study that will benefit you and others, in sha’ Allah.  Your acceptance into this program means that you will commit yourself to behave in accordance with the best of Islamic manners, as is suitable for a student of knowledge. Remember that you represent this esteemed program, and your behavior at all times should reflect that of a humble and respectful student of knowledge.  Please keep this in mind always, and encourage your classmates to do so as well.

Attendance: *

• a. Students are expected to attend the entire program and be on time for each class session and activity. A schedule of classes will be posted and made available to each student on the first day of the program. Students with excessive absences or tardies may be dismissed from the program.

• b. Students shall contact the Administration if they will be late or absent for any class or any part of the program.

• c. Students leaving campus between classes are expected to inform the Administration and must be reachable by cellphone.

Dress Code: *

• a. Islamic Dress - ^Awrah must be covered at all times

• b. Male students shall wear a qalansuwah and a qamis or an ^abayah.

• c. Females shall wear an ^abayah of modest color, a scarf/headcover, and socks.

Student Behavior and Manners: *

• a. Students are expected to uphold the best manners and practices of a student of knowledge. This pertains to dress, language, and interactions with others, inside and outside of school.

• b. Inappropriate personal relationships with marriageable persons of the opposite gender are against our policy, and are in violation of the standard of behavior expected from ALIPH students. No dating, texting, phone calls, or fraternizing are permitted, neither on nor off campus.

Campus Safety and Order: *

• a. Absolutely no smoking is allowed on campus properties, in housing, or in AMITY center, including electronic cigarettes and vaping.

• b. For students who bring vehicles to campus, free street parking adjacent to the campus is available. Parking in the AMITY parking lot will not be permitted due to limited space. Students with disabilities may obtain permission to use the AMITY lot from the Administration office.

• c. Commuting students are not permitted into ALIPH housing, even for the purpose of studying, without written permission from the Administration.

• d. Cellphones (and similar devices) are not to be seen nor heard during school hours. Any student with a cellphone which is seen or heard in class will be asked to place the device in the Administration office until dismissal from the school day.

• e. Students shall not damage the property of others or school property. Students will be personally and financially liable for all necessary repairs.

• f. All classrooms and other areas of the campus must be kept clean and organized, which includes removing textbooks and notebooks when the scheduled day ends. Students will be responsible for and assigned light cleaning, set up, and organization duties of the classrooms and campus.

• g. Food and drinks are permitted only during permitted times and in designated areas. Water bottles and drinks in spill-proof travel mugs are permitted in the classrooms, at the discretion of each teacher. Students must thoroughly clean up after themselves after consuming food & drinks.

Procedure for Infractions of ALIPH Student Rules: *

• a. A verbal reminder will be given to the student upon the first infraction of the rules.

• b. A verbal warning will be given upon the second infraction. (In addition, and as appropriate to the student’s age, parents/guardians/sponsors will also be notified of the infractions.)

• c. Upon the third infraction, the student will be dismissed from the ALIPH program.

• I understand ALIPH may change/add any rule at any time during program. (Students will be notified of any changes.)

• I affirm that I have read and understood the above mentioned ALIPH Student Rules and downloaded a copy for my reference (see top of page). I further agree to adhere to them and any updates to them, and I understand that failure to abide by these rules subjects me to disciplinary measures, including but not limited to dismissal from the program.

• I hereby consent to ALIPH administration disposing of all of my personal belongings that I leave behind after the 2024 summer program, and understand that my account will be charged for all costs associated with their disposal.
